DXI was selected to perform sitework on the James Run 111-acre parcel situated at the corner of MD 543 & I95 in Harford County. The Owners entrusted DXI to complete the four phased project in less than one year. DXI accepted the challenge and is on schedule to have the entire site package completed, including base asphalt pavement, by March of 2021 both safely and on schedule.
The site required transporting over 500,000 cubic yards of dirt, installing over 17,800 linear feet of storm pipe, 5,400 linear feet of sanitary piping and 7,400 linear feet of watermains. The project also included improvements to MD 543 totaling 6,100 tons of new asphalt. The onsite asphalt pavement totals over 8,500 tons or the project.
The site is home to several mixed-use facilities. Commercial lots were prepared for hotels, gas stations, restaurants, assisted living and villa-like townhouses. James Run is a project that represents many of DXI’s capabilities, from clearing and mass excavation to underground utilities and grading and finally road construction and asphalt paving.
